What is a Specific Defect Survey?
A targeted inspection and report on a single issue (or small group of related issues). Typical examples include:
- Cracks or movement in walls or ceilings
- Damp, condensation or mould
- Roof leaks or sagging roof structures
- Timber decay (rot) or suspected insect attack
- Floor deflection, springiness or localised settlement
- Bulging or leaning walls, retaining walls or chimneys
