Our drone roof surveys provide a safe, detailed and efficient way to check the condition of roofs, chimneys, valleys and gutters from above, using high-resolution photography and video.
We use a professional quality drone and/or a telescopic pole fitted with a high-resolution camera to capture images of the roof and other high-level elements of a property.
This enables us to:
- View areas that are normally hidden or inaccessible from ground level.
- Zoom in on individual areas of the roof, flashings and junctions.
- Record images and video for later review and reporting.

Why have a roof survey?
A roof is one of the most, if not the most, expensive item to fail on a property. A roof replacement can cost tens of thousands of pounds. If you believe, or have been told, that your roof is due for renewal, it is important to know if this is the case so that you can budget accordingly.
Roof leaks are a common cause of damage to your property, this can be particularly common with flat roofs, or roofs with features such as valleys, parapet gutters and flashings.

What is included in a roof survey
Following the inspection you will receive a report in a clear format, with:
- Annotated high resolution images.
- Clear commentary highlighting any issues we have identified.
- Recommendations for further investigation or repair where needed.
A typical drone roof inspection will include main roof coverings tiles, felt, ridges, hips and valleys. In addition we can inspect the condition of:
- chimneys – brickwork, flaunching, chimney pots, lead flashings and any visible defects.
- Gutters and rainwater goods – visible blockages, poor falls or leaking joints.
- Skylights, roof windows and solar panels – visible damage, poor detailing or signs of water ingress.
Key benefits of our drone roof survey
- An inspection by an experienced and qualified surveyor. – It is important that the person inspecting your roof is able to diagnose any roofing defects.
- Access to difficult areas – Drones can reach over conservatories, glass roofs, narrow side returns and other awkward spaces that are hard or impossible to inspect from ladders.
- High-resolution detail – Modern drone cameras capture detailed images, allowing us to zoom in on individual defects and document them clearly in the report.
- Speed and convenience – Most drone inspections can be carried out in a relatively short time on site, with minimal disruption to occupiers and neighbours.
- Cost-effective compared to scaffolding – For many properties, a drone survey is significantly cheaper and quicker than arranging scaffolding or powered access, especially for an initial inspection.
